I got an email recently claiming that some of the things I say about Christianity are “flat-out untrue” and asked if I’d share my biggest objections so we could talk it out.
I said yes.
What started as a private reply turned into something longer and more honest than I expected. I had a little too much fun writing it.
Enjoy :)

Dear Caitlin,
I don’t know if you actually read these emails, but I just wanted to write this email because I believe in the power of conversation. I’ve watched some of your videos regarding the topic of Christianity, and I think that you are saying things that are flat-out untrue. I don’t know if this is because of education or not, but a lot of the things you’re saying are not even opinions, just flat-out not historically correct. I could go through a lot of your videos and debunk them, but I really don’t see a point in that. I was wondering if you would be willing to send me your biggest objections to Christianity or why you think it is false so we could have some sort of conversation through email. I am not trying to judge you or make fun of your content; I just believe in the pursuit of truth, and I believe we all have that obligation.
Dear Jackson,
Thanks for your candid message; I’m very happy to share both my biggest objections and why I think Christianity is false. I appreciate that you’re in the pursuit of truth as well.
(Although… according to Christianity, isn’t the truth just … “Jesus”?)
